European Championships

Wales finished 20th (out of 30 teams) in the Open category in the European Championships held in Madeira, completed today. Ireland finished 6th; England 12th; Scotland 29th. This event is as tough as it gets, and that is a seriously impressive performance by the Welsh team. The team, in no particular order: Julian Pottage/Tony Ratcliff; Paul Denning/Richard Plackett; Gary Jones/Paul Lamford (NPC: Ceri Pierce).

This was our best result in the European Open for many years and the team should be congratulated on its performance. Not forgetting Ceri Pierce & Sophie Cunningham, who qualified for the final of the Ladies Pairs, ultimately finishing midway in the final Ladies pairs rankings.
